Nestlé announced an unusual theft incident, involving the disappearance of a massive shipment of Kit Kat chocolate valued at over 12 tons, equivalent to about 400,000 bars.
According to the data, the shipment left the production site in Italy heading to Poland, before disappearing completely under mysterious circumstances, with no trace so far.

The details indicate that the shipment, which includes about 413,000 pieces, was on its way to a European distribution center, in preparation for its market launch, before being seized during the journey.
Neither the company nor the relevant authorities have been able to determine the location of the truck or its route after the disappearance, complicating investigations and raising questions about the execution method.

In a notable comment, a company spokesperson said:
"We have always encouraged people to take a break with Kit Kat, but it seems that the thieves took the message literally," in a sarcastic reference to the unprecedented scale of the theft.

Nestlé confirmed that each chocolate bar carries a unique batch code, allowing products to be tracked if sold through unofficial channels.
It explained that any scanning of these codes could trigger an immediate alert, which may help uncover the shipment's path and identify the parties involved.

The company emphasized that cargo theft has become an increasing challenge in Europe, with gangs relying on more advanced and complex methods.
The announcement of the incident is part of raising awareness about this phenomenon, which has seen a noticeable increase, especially in the food and consumer goods sector.
