The movie "Project X" achieves a breakthrough in the Egyptian box office with millions in revenue.

The film "Project X" has achieved remarkable success within just two days of its release, surpassing 8 million Egyptian pounds (approximately 160,000 dollars) in revenue, making it the top-grossing film in Egypt, surpassing "Seko Seko" which had been dominating the box office since the end of last March.
Directed by Peter Mimi and co-written with Ahmed Hosni, the film presents a thrilling story where Karim Abdel Aziz plays the role of the archaeologist "Youssef El Gamal," who is accused of murdering his wife "Shams" (Hana El Zahed) after they become entangled in a conspiracy due to their research on the Great Pyramid.
The film features a stellar cast including Yasmine Sabry, Eyad Nassar, Essam El Sakka, Ahmed Ghazy, and Mostafa Ghareeb, taking viewers on an exciting journey through several countries such as Egypt, Italy, the Vatican, and Turkey, in search of the secrets of the pyramid amidst dangerous challenges.
Art critic Kamal El Kadhi attributed the film's success to several factors, including the widespread popularity of its stars, Peter Mimi's professionalism in directing, and the use of advanced filming techniques that attracted a young audience.
According to "Al-Sharq Al-Awsat" newspaper, El Kadhi stated: "The nature of the subject, advanced filming techniques, and the ability to convincingly create an adventurous atmosphere, are specifically factors that appeal to the largest sector of the young audience, which represents the most influential force in the box office and the primary economic supporter of the film industry."
He also predicted strong competition during the summer season, especially with the release of Tamer Hosny's film "Restart," considering that the film may achieve limited success due to Tamer Hosny's enduring popularity.
Critic Mohamed Abdel Rahman pointed out that the revenue of "Project X" cannot be compared to other films currently showing, such as "Seko Seko" which earned 175 million pounds in six weeks, explaining that the real competition will be with new films like "Restart."
Abdel Rahman added: "The phenomenon in general confirms that films in this stage are capable of achieving million-dollar revenues within weeks."
"Releasing the film (Project X) two weeks before the holiday, as well as (Restart) a week before the holiday, paves the way for these two films to achieve significant revenues."
