In a step reflecting a new vision to support and develop the sports sector in Syria, the Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Mohammed Sameh Hamad, issued a decision to exempt all sports clubs nationwide from all financial obligations and fees owed to the ministry and its directorates in the provinces. According to the ministry's official Facebook page, this decision is the first stage of the ministry's plan aimed at providing comprehensive financial and administrative support to sports clubs, enabling them to expand their activities, enhance their societal and developmental role, and improve the reality of Syrian sports. The decision also mandates the relevant authorities in the ministry and its directorates to implement its contents within their scope of responsibility, to ensure practical and immediate application of the decision and activate its positive effects without delay. This financial exemption is expected to bring about a tangible change in the clubs' operations by relieving them of burdens, providing a more supportive environment for developing their infrastructure, intensifying their training activities, and attracting and nurturing sports talents in various disciplines, contributing to enhancing Syria's presence in regional and international sports competitions. This decision is part of a broader strategy adopted by the Ministry of Sports and Youth to rebuild the Syrian sports movement and achieve an effective partnership between the state and sports institutions towards a more professional and sustainable sports future.
