Syrian Finance Minister Mohammad Baniyeh announced on Wednesday that he received in Damascus the CEO of Oxford Business Group (OBG), Andrew Jeffries, in a meeting dedicated to discussing future cooperation prospects and the group's role in supporting economic development pathways.
Baniyeh explained that the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on enhancing international participation in the Syrian economy, noting that the group's reports are among the most prominent references that help countries formulate their development strategies.
The minister confirmed that the increasing international interest in investment opportunities in Syria paves the way for further development and economic openness, pointing out that the government has already taken significant reform steps, including updating tax laws and enhancing governance principles.
Baniyeh emphasized Damascus's desire to expand cooperation with Oxford Business Group in a way that serves national interests and strengthens economic partnerships with the international community.
