The Largest Quran in the World Enters the Guinness World Records in Saudi Arabia

The Museum of the Holy Quran in the Al-Hiraa Cultural District of Saudi Arabia witnessed a unique event that combines history and Islamic art, showcasing the largest Quran in the world with massive dimensions of 312 × 220 cm and containing 700 pages, which granted the museum a Guinness World Records certificate as the largest Quran globally.
This Quran is not just a giant copy; it is an accurate enlargement of a historical Quran dating back to the 10th Hijri century (16th century AD), where its original size was 45 × 30 cm.
The verses of the Quran were written in Thuluth script, while Surah Al-Fatiha was written in Naskh script, reflecting the skill of Muslim artists in script variation and the precise choice of style during that era.
The original copy is currently preserved in the King Abdulaziz Complex for Digital Libraries, while the museum displays the giant version to embody the magnificence of Islamic arts in calligraphy, gilding, and binding, with intricate decorations and solar shapes on the floral pages, the title page, and the cover, serving as a living testament to the high artistic level achieved by Islamic civilization.
It is worth noting that the Quran was endowed in the year 1300 AH / 1883 AD, with its original preserved in the King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries, witnessing the Muslims' interest in the Book of Allah and the richness of the Islamic arts associated with it throughout the ages.
