The Kremlin announced on Thursday the postponement of the Russian-Arab summit that was scheduled to be held in Moscow in mid-October, with a new date to be determined later.
According to Russian media reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani during a phone call about the postponement decision, noting that the arrangements for the summit will be completed later to ensure broad and effective participation from Arab countries.
The anticipated summit was the first of its kind between Russia and Arab states, aiming to enhance political and economic cooperation and discuss regional issues, most notably the crisis in the Middle East, in addition to adopting a joint action plan for the period 2026-2028.
