The Egyptian Judiciary Ends Haifa Wehbe's Crisis and Officially Returns Her to the Singing Scene

The Administrative Court in Cairo has resolved the legal controversy surrounding Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe today, Sunday, after a court ruling annulled the decision to ban her from singing in Egypt, thus officially allowing her to resume her artistic activities.
The court ruled to suspend the decision of the Musicians' Syndicate that denied Haifa Wehbe permits to hold concerts, and it also annulled the decision of the Syndicate's head, Mustafa Kamel, considering that the decision was made without sufficient legal grounds.
In this context, Sherif Hafiz, the artist's lawyer, stated that his client was surprised by the decision to ban her from working in Egypt without prior notification, official investigation, or hearing her statements, which he considered a clear violation of the principles of legal legitimacy, rendering the decision administratively invalid.
Hafiz pointed out that the Syndicate's decision was tainted by an abuse of power, affirming that it did not aim to protect the profession or the public interest, but rather imposed an unjustified restriction on the artist's artistic activity. He added that he submitted five document bundles to the court that supported Haifa Wehbe's legal position and contributed to the ruling in her favor.
The roots of the crisis date back to last August when the Musicians' Syndicate decided to stop issuing work permits for the Lebanese artist following complaints filed by a production company, accusing her of breaching contractual terms.
With this ruling, the legal dispute is closed, and the door is reopened for Haifa Wehbe to return to singing and holding concerts in Egypt after a forced absence of several months.
