The official spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Sports and Youth, Majd Haj Ahmad, announced during a press conference held today, Sunday, at the Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus, that Syrian sports is entering a new phase of development and investment, driven by the determination of its people and the insistence of the leadership to build a bright future worthy of Syria.
Haj Ahmad explained that the ministry is currently overseeing 66 investment projects distributed across various provinces, with a total value of nearly 66 billion Syrian Lira, including new contracts and others modified to align with the current phase's requirements.
He noted that 6 new contracts were signed for 2025 in Damascus facilities worth 42 billion Lira, in addition to 10 projects pending signing in the provinces of Damascus, Homs, and Aleppo, reflecting an expansion in the sports investment map at the national level.
He affirmed that these investments aim to secure sustainable financial resources to support national teams and international participation, emphasizing that funding is a fundamental pillar to transform plans into tangible achievements and enhance Syria's presence in regional and international sports forums.
These statements come at a time when Syrian sports is witnessing structural transformations, moving towards openness to the private sector and activating strategic partnerships, contributing to the development of infrastructure and improving the quality of sports services provided to the community.
