A delegation from the General Authority of Syrian Land and Maritime Ports, headed by the Director of Local and International Relations at the Authority, Mazen Aloush, participated in the forty-fourth meeting of the Arab Customs Union Committee held today at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.

The participants from customs delegations of various member countries discussed a range of issues related to enhancing Arab customs cooperation, mechanisms for unifying procedures and technical standards, and facilitating trade exchange among Arab countries, contributing to achieving the goals of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area.

The meeting concluded, as reported by the Authority on its Telegram channel, with a number of recommendations focusing on expediting negotiations on the unified customs tariff schedule among Arab countries.

Regarding prohibited and restricted goods, the Committee recommended submitting technical proposals on managing and monitoring this type of goods through a unified electronic platform, in coordination with the relevant authorities at the Arab League.

The participation of the General Authority of Syrian Land and Maritime Ports in this meeting reaffirms Syria's commitment to enhancing joint Arab work in the customs field, keeping pace with legislative and procedural developments aimed at facilitating trade and supporting economic integration pathways among Arab countries.
