In an unusual move, the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry announced the production of a dramatic series to be aired during the month of Ramadan, in an attempt to reach the audience through a direct artistic approach, instead of relying solely on traditional publications and awareness campaigns.

'Supply and Demand'... 15 Episodes in Peak Season

The work is titled 'Supply and Demand' and consists of 15 episodes, scheduled to be aired in the second half of Ramadan, taking advantage of the peak viewing period. It features several stars of Syrian drama, including Abeer Shams Al-Din, Hazem Zidan, Tarek Marashli, Reem Zeino, and Alaa Qassem.

Economic Awareness in a Comedic Format

The ministry aims through the series to inform citizens of their rights and duties, encouraging them to participate in monitoring commercial and economic performance, within a meaningful comedic drama that combines entertainment with information.

Service Sectors Under the Microscope

Maher Hamsho, an official in the Consumer Protection Sector at the Ministry of Economy, stated that the series will analytically and comedically address the reality of several service and commercial sectors, such as bakeries, meat shops, and restaurants, highlighting the daily challenges faced by consumers.

Direct Messages to Improve Performance

Hamsho added during a press conference that the work aims to contribute to the development of these sectors' performance and improve service levels, in line with quality standards and consumer protection laws.

A Syrian Family's Story Reflected in Reality

The series revolves around the life of a Syrian family and their daily struggle to secure a decent living, where economic and social issues are presented in a light atmosphere close to the people, delivering the message 'with a smile.'

A Guest in Every Episode... and a New Issue

Each episode features a different guest character, with the dialogue serving as an entry point to discuss the economic situation of citizens, their rights and duties, and how to benefit from consumer protection laws to ensure their rights.

The Team and Air Date

The series 'Supply and Demand' is written by Zaid Al-Tareef and directed by Ghazwan Al-Qahouji, and it is expected to be a remarkable experience that combines drama and awareness, marking a precedent for an official ministry using the small screen as a direct communication tool with the Syrian street.
