The Syrian Minister of Economy and the Deputy Ambassador of Japan Discuss Enhancing Economic and Investment Partnership

The Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal Al-Shaar, discussed with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Damascus, Tsugi Akihiro, ways to enhance bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, potential areas of joint cooperation in industrial, investment, and commercial sectors were reviewed, serving the common interests of both peoples.

Both sides confirmed, according to what was reported by the Ministry of Economy, their "commitment to continue coordination and exchange of experiences, and to open new horizons for cooperation that enhance opportunities for economic development."

This meeting comes as part of the ministry's efforts to "build and develop economic relations with various countries around the world, and to activate investment and mutual trade exchanges," after many years of international isolation that Syria has experienced.
