The Syrian Foreign Minister Thanks the U.S. Special Envoy After a Delegation Visit to Congress

Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Shibani, expressed his gratitude to the U.S. special envoy for Syria, Tom Brack, for the support he provided during a Syrian delegation's visit to the U.S. capital, Washington.
This was stated in a post by Al-Shibani on the "X" platform, where he wrote: "With pride and gratitude, we extend our thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the U.S. special envoy for Syria, Tom Brack, for the support and participation in our visit to Washington, where we carried the voice of the Syrian people to the institutions of Congress and the State Department, and raised the Syrian flag over our embassy."
The Syrian minister added in his post, affirming: "Syria always deserves better."
In a related context, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson expressed a different viewpoint regarding the Syrian file. Wilson stated in remarks to the media, "The Syrian people have been liberated, and we must work to repeal the Caesar Act.. We hope to see Syria as a sovereign and undivided state, as its division would open the door to ISIS and extremism."
The statements highlight the contrasting positions within the American political scene regarding Syria, between those supporting closer cooperation with the Syrian government and others urging the lifting of sanctions while maintaining the unity of the country.
