The Syrian Foreign Minister Receives an Official Invitation from the UAE to Participate in the Sir Bani Yas Forum

The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad al-Shabani, received today in Damascus the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, who handed him an official invitation from the UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to participate in the Sir Bani Yas Forum scheduled to be held next December.

The forum is a strategic platform that brings together a select group of officials and international experts to discuss regional security issues and international cooperation. The invitation to Syria comes as part of enhancing the Syrian diplomatic presence in international forums and affirming the growing relations between Damascus and Abu Dhabi.

The meeting between Minister al-Shabani and the UAE Ambassador also addressed:
• Mechanisms for developing bilateral cooperation in political and economic fields
• Coordinating positions on regional and international issues
• Supporting stability efforts in the Arab region
