Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabani said on Friday that the process of integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into state institutions is progressing well, noting that joint meetings with the American side in Munich reflect this progress.
Al-Shabani added that Syria is a unified country, and discussions with Washington focus on a real partnership rather than division, emphasizing that the Kurdish community is an integral component and that the civil rights decree addresses issues that have persisted for decades.
He confirmed that Washington has supported the Syrian government and provided it with a significant opportunity, with clear backing from President Trump, and that the goal is to engage with a strong state with its institutions and army.
For her part, SDF leader Ilham Ahmed considered the joint meetings with the U.S. Secretary of State to be positive, as steps for integration and practical challenges in implementing the recent agreement were discussed, indicating that the next phase includes continuing the integration process and working on a new constitution for the country.
