Southern Syria: Near-Daily Israeli Incursions Since December 2024

The southern region of Syria has witnessed an unprecedented escalation by Israeli forces in less than two weeks, with 21 incursions into Syrian territory, according to the "DPA" agency.
These military movements included storming villages in the Quneitra countryside, entering civilian areas, detaining civilians, as well as the razing of agricultural land and the establishment of temporary military barriers, indicating the continuation of Israeli violations since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024.
* Repeated Incursions and Extensive Military Operations
On Friday, Israeli forces infiltrated the village of Ain al-Zawan in the Quneitra countryside and raided a house, while the neighboring village of Sayda al-Hanout saw an incursion on Thursday and the establishment of a checkpoint at the western entrance, according to the official Syrian news agency "SANA".
The movements on Wednesday included an incursion into the village of Ofania, with the firing of illuminating flares and two artillery shells towards the vicinity of Tel al-Ahmar Ain al-Nouria in the northern Quneitra countryside.
Since the beginning of February, Israel has intensified its military activities in the southern regions, recording a series of ground incursions and aerial flights in the Quneitra and Daraa countrysides.
* Negotiations Without Results
Despite more than six rounds of talks between Syrian and Israeli officials mediated by the United States, no security agreement has yet been reached to ensure stability in the border area.
Israel had abandoned the 1974 ceasefire and deployed military forces and equipment within the demilitarized zone for several months, including the strategic observation point at Mount Sheikh, increasing tensions in southern Syria.
