Sisi: Peace is Egypt's strategic choice and a guarantee for the region's security

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi confirmed that peace remains the only path to achieve security and stability in the region, emphasizing the constants of the Egyptian stance towards the Palestinian issue and rejecting any attempts to displace Palestinians or annex lands from the West Bank.
Sisi's statements came during his meeting today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who conveyed a message from U.S. President Donald Trump, in the presence of the Ministers of Defense and Interior and several concerned leaders.
The official spokesperson for the presidency, Ambassador Mohamed Shennawy, explained that the meeting discussed the results of Madbouly's participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, which included several events, most notably the "Two-State Solution" conference, where Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to the peace option and the Camp David Accords as a successful model, welcoming the recognition of the Palestinian state by several major countries, considering it a historic event that created new international momentum supporting the cause, with broad consensus on rejecting Israeli practices, including what has been described as "genocide."
The meeting also reviewed details of Trump's meeting with several Arab and Muslim leaders regarding Gaza, where the U.S. President announced his rejection of the continuation of the war and his intention to end it with a clear roadmap for an immediate ceasefire, while exploring the possibility of putting a plan for the reconstruction of the sector without displacing its residents.
For his part, President Sisi stressed that establishing the Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is an indispensable necessity, affirming Egypt's categorical rejection of any solutions that involve forced displacement, and the importance of expediting the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, while welcoming Trump's initiative to stop the war with an emphasis on the need for international efforts to support the Palestinian leadership and the reconstruction plan for the sector.
In this context, the leaders who participated in Trump's meeting issued a joint statement confirming that the situation in Gaza has become "tragic and unbearable" with a humanitarian disaster and heavy human losses, reiterating their rejection of forced displacement and calling for the return of the displaced, and agreeing to prepare a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza according to the vision of Arab countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, with the provision of international support for the Palestinian leadership and security arrangements that ensure stability.
