The Colombian star Shakira surprised her audience with a message in Arabic, just before her anticipated concert in front of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt on April 7, marking her first appearance there in 19 years, after her last concert at the same location in 2007.
A Message for the Fans
Shakira posted a short video on her official Instagram account, where she addressed her fans saying: "Hello, I am Shakira, I am very happy to sing in Egypt, in Giza, and at the Pyramids, I love you."
The message received a wide reaction from the Egyptian and Arab audience, as many followers shared it, and the video garnered over half a million views.
Her Concert Tour in the Middle East
The concert is part of Shakira's regional tour, which marks her return to the Arab audience after an absence of about 15 years. The tour is set to begin on March 28 in Aqaba, then move to Doha on April 1, followed by a concert on Yas Island on April 4, before concluding with a performance in Jeddah on April 19 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit as part of the Formula 1 events.
The concert in front of the Pyramids is expected to be an exceptional occasion that combines art with a unique historical site, allowing Shakira to relive memories of her previous concerts in Egypt after nearly two decades.
