"Self-administration" in northern and eastern Syria raises fuel prices.

The "Self-Administration" in northeastern Syria announced an increase in the prices of unleaded gasoline and diesel starting Sunday, April 20, with the price per liter rising from 5100 to 6200 Syrian pounds, an increase of approximately 22%.
According to the decision issued by the "Administration," the price per liter of unleaded diesel was set at 0.55 dollars, based on an exchange rate of 11,000 Syrian pounds per dollar, making the equivalent price 6050 pounds, with an additional commission of 150 pounds per liter for gas stations.
Hussam Al-Assad, the co-chair of the Fuel Administration in northern and eastern Syria, confirmed that the increase only targets unleaded diesel, noting that the prices of service, agricultural, and industrial diesel remain unchanged.
On the other hand, an official source in the "Self-Administration" indicated that the decision also includes unifying the price of unleaded gasoline at the same new price as diesel, explaining that this step was taken due to "a deficit in the public treasury and rising extraction and transportation costs."
