Flydubai announced yesterday, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the resumption of its direct flights to the Syrian capital, Damascus, starting from June 1, following a 12-year hiatus.
According to an official statement issued by the company, the flights will operate daily from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Damascus International Airport (DAM).

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, confirmed that the company is proud to be the first Emirati carrier to resume regular flights to Syria in over a decade, noting that Damascus holds a unique cultural and historical significance and was one of the company's initial destinations since its operations began in June 2009.

This decision comes after the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority announced last April the permission to resume air travel between the UAE and Syria.
Flydubai explained that this resumption reflects its commitment to expanding its network of destinations and connecting travelers to historically and culturally important regional markets.

The company also mentioned that the new flights will coincide with the Eid Al-Adha holiday and the summer travel season, providing travelers with an ideal opportunity to visit Syria.
Business class round-trip ticket prices will start from 10,000 UAE Dirhams, while economy class prices will start from 2,000 Dirhams.

Coordination has been made with the relevant authorities in both countries to meet all operational and technical requirements, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards before relaunching the service.
