SDF Begins Withdrawal from the Surroundings of Hasakah Under Agreement with Damascus

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) began their withdrawal from the vicinity of the city of Hasakah today, Tuesday, in implementation of an agreement reached with the Syrian government on January 30, 2026.

The areas that have been vacated are witnessing the deployment of internal security forces affiliated with the Syrian state, while the agreement stipulates the handover of oil wells and Qamishli Airport to the state, in addition to integrating the self-administration institutions into the state structure and ensuring the rights of the Kurdish community in the region.
