Saudi F-35 Dominates the Global Defense Exhibition 2026

In a striking scene reflecting the growing international interest in defense industries in the Kingdom, Saudis and visitors gathered around a model of the stealth fighter F-35, which appeared with a Saudi identity, described as the "JewelCrown" of the Royal Saudi Air Force, at the Global Defense Exhibition 2026, which kicked off last Sunday in Al-Malham north of the capital Riyadh.
The Lockheed Martin booth witnessed wide attendance, where visitors were allowed to experience an interactive cockpit of the modern fighter, alongside an extensive presentation showcasing the advanced technologies of the aircraft, which is considered one of the most advanced and leading fighter jets in the world.
The F-35 fighter is distinguished by its integrated night and day vision capabilities, enhancing response speed and decision-making accuracy during operational missions, granting it a qualitative superiority in modern battlefields.
The significant turnout for the aircraft reflects the advanced status of the Global Defense Exhibition as a leading international platform for showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in defense industries, enhancing the exchange of expertise and knowledge, keeping pace with rapid developments in the fields of defense and security, and establishing the Kingdom as a global hub for military innovations.
Saudi Arabia has officially requested to purchase up to 48 fighter jets of the F-35 model, with the U.S. administration beginning to study the request within the U.S. Department of Defense.
In mid-November 2025, the United States, through its President Donald Trump, confirmed its intention to approve the sale of these aircraft to the Kingdom.
The Royal Saudi Air Force is classified among the strongest regionally, thanks to its advanced air fleet, alongside pilots with the highest levels of combat experience and professionalism.
The entry of the American stealth fighter F-35 into service is expected to advance the ranking of the Saudi Air Force, given the aircraft's superior combat and maneuvering capabilities, relying on the latest combat technologies in the world.
