Zakharova clarified that the crew of the ship consists of Indian citizens, while the ownership of the cargo or the entity that owns it remains unknown, emphasizing that the ship has no ties to the country whatsoever.

Verification of the Ship's Identity

The French navy detained the tanker on January 22 in the Mediterranean Sea to verify the identity of the ship, after suspecting it was using a false flag, and French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the action.
