Qatar Denies Shortage of Interceptor Missiles and Confirms Air Defense Readiness

Amid escalating regional tensions, Qatar broke its silence to put an end to what it described as inaccurate information circulated by Bloomberg regarding the depletion of its interceptor missile stock.
Doha firmly confirmed that the stockpiles of the Patriot air defense system have not been exhausted, and that the armed forces maintain full readiness and sufficient reserves to deal with any threat.
It emphasized that its defense system operates at a high level of efficiency, and that military personnel are in a constant state of readiness to protect Qatari territory and ensure the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors without exception.
The statement noted that disseminating “false information” without referring to official sources reflects a lack of responsibility, especially in light of the sensitive phase the region is undergoing and the rapid developments on both security and military fronts.
In parallel, the ministerial council of the Gulf Cooperation Council held a virtual meeting, during which it discussed the Iranian missile and drone attacks that targeted several Gulf countries since last Saturday, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait.
The ministers examined the extent of the damage inflicted on civilian facilities, service sites, and residential areas, as well as the material losses and direct threats to the safety and security of the population, in addition to the state of concern it raised among residents and citizens.
They also discussed the necessary steps and measures to coordinate joint efforts, aiming to contain the repercussions, restore security and stability, and support efforts to achieve peace in the region.
In conclusion, Doha emphasized that its armed forces have proven on multiple occasions their high capability to confront any aggression, asserting that the country’s security is a red line, and that defensive readiness continues uninterrupted, despite all challenges.
