Pakistan Warns at "Islamic Cooperation": Terrorism in Afghanistan Threatens Regional Stability

Pakistani Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, called for enhanced regional cooperation and the adoption of coordinated strategies to address escalating security challenges, warning that "terrorism in Afghanistan" threatens stability and requires urgent and coordinated action.
This came during his speech at the Contact Group meeting on Afghanistan at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation today, Wednesday, according to what was reported by the Afghan news agency "Khaama Press".
Minister Dar expressed his deep concern regarding the presence of "terrorist groups" in Afghanistan, noting that this threat poses serious risks to regional stability. In an official statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Dar emphasized the need for effective steps to "suppress terrorism," calling for practical measures to protect peace.
The minister's remarks were not limited to security aspects; he also stressed that "Afghanistan cannot remain isolated from the international community," urging for more dialogue and cooperation to address common security and economic challenges.
As a practical initiative to promote peace, Dar proposed the formation of a working group of experts within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to prepare a roadmap for peace, affirming that "sustainable stability requires sincerity, mutual respect, and political will".
The Pakistani Foreign Minister concluded his speech by reaffirming his country's readiness to support collective initiatives aimed at ensuring peace in Afghanistan, while also calling for "coordinated regional strategies to combat extremism and insecurity".
