The Ministry of Communications and Technology announced today the return of the global company Nokia to the Syrian market, in a move described as "crucial for bringing Syria back to the path of technological development," during the Amplify Syria event hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus.

In his speech during the event, Minister of Communications, Abdul Salam Haikal, confirmed that the partnership with Nokia will contribute to:
- Building modern communication networks.
- Providing quality job opportunities for Syrian technicians.
- Enhancing the digital infrastructure to meet citizens' needs.
- Supporting economic development through strategic projects.

For his part, Miko Lavanti, Nokia's Head in the Middle East and Africa for the cellular networks sector, expressed the company's pride in returning to Syria, noting that the Syrian market "has promising potential," and that Nokia is committed to supporting the ministry's projects such as "Silk Link" and **"Barq Net"**, and contributing to the development of the telecommunications sector in collaboration with local partners.

The event featured a series of technical lectures addressing the most prominent trends in modern technology, including:
- The use of fifth generation in fixed wireless access.
- Optimal investment of the frequency spectrum.
- Cloud computing solutions.
- Communication security.
- Nokia's technologies in digital transformation.

This return comes after years of absence, as Nokia reopened its office in Damascus, preparing to participate in the digital transformation plan for the sector, relying on expertise spanning over 100 countries around the world.

A number of ministers, representatives of diplomatic missions, and prominent figures from the telecommunications and information technology sector attended the event, confirming the importance of the event and its economic and technical implications.
