The image of Mohamed Salah appears in the voter lists in Cameroon and causes widespread controversy

While Salah was celebrating at the Cairo International Stadium for the Egyptian national team's qualification for the 2026 World Cup, followers were surprised by the spread of a photo of him listed in the Cameroonian electoral register.
The German network Deutsche Welle confirmed that the photo indeed appeared on the official website of the Cameroonian Electoral Authority "Elecam", but the accompanying data did not belong to the player, as a strange username "Azert Qsdfg" taken from a French keyboard appeared, along with a birth date different from Salah's actual birth date.
The story, which turned into a satirical material on the internet, simultaneously raised serious questions about the reliability of the electoral records in Cameroon, where one commentator wrote: "If Mohamed Salah is registered here, how many other fake names are there?"
