In a surprising development, investigative authorities in Egypt have referred artist Mohammed Ramadan to trial due to his latest song titled "Number One Ya Ansas".
According to the investigations conducted in this context, Ramadan did not obtain the necessary permits from the Egyptian censorship authority, which grants the required approvals for broadcasting songs on electronic platforms, including "YouTube".
The investigations confirmed that the song contains lyrics that contradict social norms and public taste, promoting violence in an unacceptable manner, and praising incorrect behaviors regarding self-assertion at the expense of others.
A letter from the songs department of the censorship authority was received last August stating that the song had been published on social media, and the censorship confirmed that it was not suitable for public display and had not been legally licensed.
It seems that the song, which stirred controversy on online platforms, was not the first time Mohammed Ramadan faced criticism for his artistic works.
The censorship had previously confirmed that the music video for the song did not receive the necessary approvals for filming or copying.
In a related context, Ramadan continues his artistic activity, as he recently finished filming his new song, which was shot in the United States, in collaboration with Lara Trump, the wife of the son of the American president, in one of the luxurious palaces there. This song is expected to be released on electronic platforms in the upcoming period.
It is worth mentioning that Ramadan also released his song "Jeddah Ghair" in August 2025, in collaboration with Saudi artist Aydh Youssef, to be the official song for the Jeddah tourism season.
The repercussions of the controversy raised by the song "Number One Ya Ansas" continue, as the audience awaits developments in this case that has garnered wide interest in artistic and media circles.
