Syrian Minister of Finance Mohammad Yasser Barnieh said today, Monday, that spending on education will be a priority in Syria's upcoming budget.
Minister Barnieh added via the "LinkedIn" platform: "I was honored to participate today in the launch ceremony of the national initiative (Return My School) launched by the Ministry of Education."
The minister pointed out that there are more than 7,200 schools in need of restoration and repair, while there are about 2.4 million children without schools.
He confirmed that the initiative aims to "gather and mobilize efforts from the Syrian state, civil society, the business sector, and regional and international organizations to work together to respond to the call (Return My School)."
