The Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid in North Kordofan stated to Al Jazeera that about 70 families fled from the city of Bara, following the control of the Rapid Support Forces over it, in a new field development that reflects the widening scope of the conflict in Sudan.
The commissioner confirmed that the displaced families are facing difficult humanitarian conditions, amid a severe shortage of food and shelter, noting that relief teams are working to provide urgent response despite security challenges.
These movements come amid ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in various regions of the country, leading to repeated waves of displacement and a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation.
