Lavrov: Trump's plan for Gaza is not enough... and a Palestinian state is necessary after implementation

During his meeting with journalists in Moscow, Lavrov clarified that Moscow views U.S. President Donald Trump's plan for Gaza as "the most realistic option currently," but emphasized that it remains partial and limited, as it focuses only on the Gaza Strip without resolving the fate of the West Bank or the future of the Palestinian state.
He added that the United Nations resolutions are clear on this matter, and that Russia is committed to supporting their implementation, warning against changing the "rules of the game" or altering the goals midway.
Lavrov stressed that the success of any agreement in Gaza must be followed by a clear political path leading to the declaration of the State of Palestine, with concrete agreements based on United Nations Security Council resolutions.
In contrast, U.S. President Trump announced from Sharm El Sheikh that the agreement between Israel and Hamas represents "a great day for the Middle East," noting that it includes a ceasefire, a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, a prisoner exchange, and the introduction of urgent aid to Gaza, along with the formation of a transitional administration of Palestinian technocrats to manage the affairs of the sector.
