Kuwait: Postponement of the trial of the former Minister of Interior and Defense in embezzlement cases to December

The Kuwaiti Court of Cassation decided today, Monday, to postpone the trial of the former Minister of Interior and Defense, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, in two cases of embezzlement of public funds from the Ministries of Interior and Defense, to a session on December 1, in order to complete the pleadings and payment procedures.
The court had previously suspended the execution of two prison sentences against him totaling 14 years, in addition to a fine of 30 million Kuwaiti Dinars, following accusations of embezzling funds from the two ministries, along with a travel ban.
This case falls within the anti-corruption campaign launched by the Kuwaiti authorities for years, aimed at tracking public funds and recovering embezzled money from state institutions.
