The Jordanian Armed Forces revealed the interception of 108 out of 119 missiles and drones over the course of a week, while air defenses were unable to thwart 11 of them, following a series of attacks targeting vital facilities in the kingdom.
The Director of Military Media in the Jordanian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Mustafa Al-Hiyari, confirmed that the Iranian missiles and drones were not cruise missiles, noting that their interception led to debris falling in multiple areas, resulting in 14 minor injuries.
Al-Hiyari explained that the attacks came after airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel on Iran, emphasizing that Jordan was not a party to the conflict and that its territory was not used as a launchpad for any attack. He added that the kingdom activated military and defense cooperation agreements with friendly armies to enhance air protection, in conjunction with coordination with the Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority to ensure the safety of the skies.
Jordanian officials also confirmed that the attacks represent a violation of the state's sovereignty and a threat to its security, and that Jordan prioritizes the safety of its citizens and residential areas. Colonel Amer Al-Sartawi, Director of Security Media in the Public Security Directorate, mentioned that there were 207 incidents of debris and objects falling in the kingdom, all of which resulted in only minor injuries.
