The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Center for Design and Development "JODDB", Rateb Abu Raghif, stated today, Tuesday, that the global market for drones is approximately $73.5 billion according to last year's statistics.
He emphasized that the unethical uses of these drones highlight the importance of developing effective countermeasures, noting the existence of an advanced local Jordanian industry in this field.
Abu Raghif pointed out that the Jordanian center exports its products to 38 countries, including five countries that have received drone countermeasures of various types. He stressed the importance of community awareness in dealing with drones when seen or when they fall.
On Tuesday, the activities of the "Countering and Mitigating Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS)" conference and exhibition took place under the patronage of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Youssef Al-Hunaiti, and in the presence of the Minister of Investment and security agency directors, at the St. Regis Hotel – Amman. This conference is being organized for the first time in the Middle East and Africa in collaboration with the British company SAE Media Group and with the support of the Jordanian Armed Forces, and it will last for two days.
The conference aims to showcase the latest technologies for detecting and intercepting drones, discuss the ethics of their use, and share experiences regarding future challenges in this field.
The Director General of the Jordanian Center for Design and Development, retired Major General Ayman Al-Batran, confirmed that the conference is being held at a time when there is an increasing threat posed by unmanned systems at both regional and international levels, calling for the development of specialized solutions to responsibly address these risks in a way that serves communities.
