Italy reopens its cooperation section at its embassy in Damascus to strengthen relations with Syria

The Italian embassy in Damascus announced today Monday, September 1, the reopening of its cooperation section, in a move that enhances its operational presence and develops bilateral relations with the Syrian side.
The announcement of this step was made by the chargé d'affaires of the embassy, Stefano Ravagnan, who posted a statement on the platform "X" explaining the purpose of the reopening, saying: "I am pleased to announce the reopening of the cooperation section at the embassy today with our team of staff present in Damascus, this is an important step to enhance our operational capabilities in the country and intensify communication with all parties in Syria".
This initiative comes as a continuation of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which previously saw the reopening of the Italian embassy in Damascus on January 10, following a historic visit by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani to the Syrian capital.
