Imane Khalif Appeals the Decision Excluding Her from International Boxing Championships

The court stated in its announcement that the appeal aims to overturn the decision and allow Khalif to compete in the 2025 World Boxing Championship without undergoing any tests, noting that it had previously rejected a request from Imane to suspend the decision while the case was being considered.
Khalif had drawn attention alongside Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting during the Paris 2024 Games, after both were excluded from the 2023 World Championship due to test results deemed by the International Federation as disqualifying for participation in the women's category.
Despite this, both boxers received the green light from the International Olympic Committee to participate in the Paris Olympics, where each won a gold medal in her weight class.
Since then, Imane has not participated in any competitions, and she was preparing to compete in an international championship in the Netherlands last June, but she withdrew after the International Federation announced its intention to impose mandatory gender verification tests on all boxers.
Later, the president of the International Federation, Van Der Vorst, apologized for mentioning Imane in his statement, affirming that her privacy should have been respected.
Imane, 26 years old, has repeatedly emphasized that she was born a woman and has a long record in women's boxing competitions, asserting her determination to defend her title at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
