The Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" revealed today, Wednesday, citing informed sources, that estimates within the security agencies indicate the failure of the military operation that targeted senior Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha, which was carried out last Tuesday.
According to the newspaper, the operation, described as "qualitative and precise," did not fully achieve its objectives, amid conflicting information regarding the fate of the targeted leaders, prompting decision-making circles in Tel Aviv to reassess the feasibility of targeting outside Palestinian territories.
This development comes amid rising criticism within Israel regarding the timing of the operation and its political and diplomatic risks, especially following a wave of Arab and international condemnations that considered the attack a blatant violation of Qatar's sovereignty and a threat to ongoing mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
Estimates suggest that the operation may negatively impact Israeli relations with some Gulf countries and open the door to counter-diplomatic moves, at a time when Israel is seeking to contain the repercussions of the war on Gaza and expand the circle of international support.
