Israel retracts its decision to close Gaza crossings after American pressure: aid resumes tomorrow

In a surprising turn, Israeli sources revealed to Axios that the Israeli government has decided to retract its previous decision to close all crossings leading to the Gaza Strip, following direct pressure from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to the report, the crossings will be reopened on Monday morning, and humanitarian aid deliveries to the sector will resume, after having been halted earlier based on a recommendation from the Israeli army.

The decision comes after a series of escalatory measures, which included bombing about 100 targets inside Gaza and announcing a halt to aid, amid international criticism and warnings of worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged sector.

The American step reflects Washington's desire to contain the escalation and avoid a collapse of the humanitarian situation, especially in light of increasing international calls to halt military operations and facilitate the delivery of relief.
