Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Wednesday that Iran is ready for both options, war and peace, amid increasing tensions in the region.
In statements to the Iranian "Tasnim" news agency, Araghchi said that Tehran is capable of reaching an agreement or deal based on the understandings achieved during the second round of negotiations with the United States.
Araghchi added that Iran seeks to find a peaceful solution, but if necessary, the Iranian armed forces are ready to fulfill their defensive duties, noting that Tehran has learned a lot from the previous war, and thus is today more prepared to face any threats.
Regarding the Iranian nuclear file, Araghchi emphasized that Tehran is not ready to give up its right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. He also confirmed that Iran does not see a military solution to this issue and that the best path to resolve it is through diplomacy.
Araghchi added that Iran has limited the range of its missiles to only 2000 kilometers for defensive reasons, considering that this aims at deterrence rather than attack. He also accused Israel of trying to push U.S. President Donald Trump into war with Iran, describing it as the only country in the region seeking war.
Regarding Iranian detainees, Araghchi stated that Iran has not executed anyone following the recent events, confirming that trials are still ongoing.
