Internal Security in Hama Controls the Situation After a Kidnapping and Armed Attack

Brigadier General Malham Al-Shantout, the head of internal security in Hama province, announced today, Wednesday, that a group affiliated with the remnants of the ousted regime kidnapped a member of the Syrian army and published a video showing his torture, which led to a security tension in one of the towns in the Hama countryside following an armed attack carried out by the relatives of the kidnapped.

In a swift response, internal security units moved with significant reinforcements in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, where forces spread around the town, ensured the safety of citizens, and imposed complete security.

Brigadier General Al-Shantout confirmed that the relevant authorities have begun pursuing all aggressors, stressing that the security institution will not allow any threats to public peace under any circumstances. He also indicated that investigations are ongoing to track down those involved in the kidnapping and attack, in preparation for bringing them to justice.
