Contrary to expectations, Elon Musk, the CEO of "Tesla" and "SpaceX", no longer lives in a luxurious mansion that reflects his immense wealth, but has chosen a simple life without extravagant displays.
In 2020, Musk sold all seven of his homes located in different areas of the United States, for an estimated total of around 100 million dollars.
He wrote on Twitter at the time: "I will not own any house," confirming his decision to give up his material possessions.
Since then, Musk has dedicated his time to launching new electric cars, launching reusable rockets through "SpaceX", as well as supporting the AI startup "OpenAI", before later leaving its board.
Due to his busy schedule, Musk has sometimes had to sleep on the floor of the "SpaceX" factory or on a couch at the "Tesla" headquarters, a lifestyle far from the luxury and comfort usually associated with the richest man in the world.
In his latest statement during a video call, Musk revealed that he currently lives in a modest home near the "SpaceX" rocket headquarters known as "Starbase", which he bought for only 8,000 dollars, with some simple improvements.
The house contains one room and a bathroom with basic amenities, and a white-painted fence around the yard, and it is the only home he owns and lives in, a fact that his friends found hard to believe.
Despite his simple lifestyle, Musk's wealth amounts to 431 billion dollars, primarily distributed across his shares in "Tesla" and "SpaceX", in addition to the company "xAI", the platform "X", and several other companies.
Elon Musk thus proves that immense wealth does not necessarily mean a luxurious life, and that sometimes strength lies in focusing on work and future vision more than material possessions.
