High-level Syrian-Jordanian Ministerial Meeting Emphasizes Enhancing Economic Cooperation and Investing in Fraternal Relations

The Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade, Nidal Al-Shaar, discussed with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Damascus, Sufyan Al-Qudah, ways to enhance economic and investment cooperation between the two brotherly countries, during a meeting held on Monday at the Ministry of Economy building in Damascus.
The meeting focused on mechanisms to activate trade exchange and expand areas of joint cooperation, within the framework of efforts to develop bilateral relations and support the interests of both countries. Ways to support bilateral investment projects and facilitate the movement of goods and services across border crossings were also discussed.
In this context, Minister Al-Shaar emphasized the "necessity of working to remove obstacles facing trade movement and enhancing communication between the chambers of industry and commerce in both countries."
For his part, Ambassador Al-Qudah expressed his country's "appreciation for the fraternal relations that bind Syria and Jordan," affirming his country's "readiness to work on opening new horizons for investment and industrial cooperation."
This meeting comes as part of the advanced steps witnessed in the economic relations between the two countries, which are heading towards increasing the volume of trade exchange and developing cooperation in vital areas such as energy, industry, agriculture, and transportation. Both parties are also exploring the establishment of joint investment projects that would contribute to supporting the national economies and meeting the needs of local markets.
