Hamas and Fatah Delegations Meet in Cairo to Discuss Post-War Arrangements

Delegations from the Hamas and Fatah movements held a meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, today Thursday, to discuss the future of the Palestinian scene and the arrangements for the phase following the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to sources reported to "Al Jazeera".

The Hamas delegation was led by the leader Khalil al-Hayya, while the Fatah movement was represented by Hussein al-Sheikh, Deputy Head of the Palestinian Authority, and Majed Faraj, Head of the General Intelligence Service. This meeting comes amid Egyptian efforts to reactivate internal Palestinian dialogue, amidst escalating humanitarian and political challenges in Gaza.

The meeting is considered an important step towards attempting to formulate a common vision for managing the upcoming phase, especially in light of increasing international demands for the necessity of Palestinian unity and the activation of governance institutions in the sector.
