The Moroccan "Generation Z" movement has sent a popular document to King Mohammed VI, demanding the dismissal of Aziz Akhannouch's government due to its "failure to protect purchasing power and ensure social justice," and the initiation of legal proceedings to hold those involved in corruption and embezzlement of public funds accountable.
The movement emphasized that its demand for a public national session chaired by the king aims to "establish a historical precedent for linking responsibility with accountability," and not for revenge, considering that this will restore trust between the people and their institutions.
It also called for the release of prisoners of conscience and peaceful protesters, the enhancement of constitutional freedoms, and the guarantee of equal opportunities for youth in education, work, and health away from favoritism.
The movement stated in its address: "We are the youth of Morocco who refuse to continue in the cycle of corruption and failure, and we believe that the future of the homeland passes through social justice, transparency, and the renewal of trust between the state and the citizen."
The action of "Generation Z" comes amid a wave of ongoing protests witnessed in several Moroccan cities, which have diminished in intensity on Thursday evening compared to previous days.
