The Lebanese Army and UNIFIL Confirm the Importance of Coordination and Redeployment South According to Resolution 1701

The commanders of the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL emphasized today, Friday, the importance of joint coordination between the two sides, in accordance with the international resolution 1701, which forms the legal basis for the cessation of hostilities in southern Lebanon since 2006.

Both parties stressed the necessity of the Lebanese Army's redeployment in all areas of the south, which contributes to restoring stability and enhancing security, amid rising tensions on the southern Lebanese border.

This confirmation comes at a time when the region is witnessing intense security and diplomatic movements, amid international calls for the full implementation of the provisions of resolution 1701, including preventing any armed presence outside the framework of the Lebanese state.
