Gaza: The Israeli army kills 4 militants who emerged from a tunnel east of Rafah

Despite the ongoing ceasefire in the Gaza Strip since October 10, the Israeli army announced today, Monday, that it killed four militants who emerged from a tunnel in eastern Rafah in the southern part of the territory.
The army spokesperson Captain Ella stated in a message on "X" that the forces spotted the militants at an underground opening and opened fire towards the 7th Brigade forces, who responded and eliminated the four immediately.
Captain Ella confirmed that the army continues its activities in the area to monitor any remaining militants.
The army described this incident as a "flagrant and serious violation of the ceasefire agreement," emphasizing that it will continue its operations to eliminate any potential threats.
Since the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in October 2025, more than 500 Palestinians have been killed and over 1460 others injured, according to the Israeli army, which stressed that its targeting focuses on militant sites and members of Hamas.
This development comes ahead of an anticipated peace council meeting in Washington next week, which is expected to discuss the reconstruction plan for Gaza after two years of devastating war, while Israel insists on the disarmament and dismantling of Hamas before any reconstruction steps.
