Gaza: Israeli Shelling Kills 9 Palestinians Despite Ceasefire

Despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the Palestinian territory witnessed a new escalation, as Israeli forces launched sporadic shelling, resulting in the death of 9 Palestinians and injuries to others, according to journalists.
Medical sources indicated that 5 citizens, including a child, lost their lives due to artillery shelling by the Israeli army on tents of citizens in the neighborhoods of Al-Zeitoun and Al-Tuffah east of Gaza City, according to Wafa news agency.
Additionally, 4 other Palestinians were killed and others injured as a result of targeting the tents of displaced persons in the Qizan Rashwan area south of Khan Younis.
Mohammed Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, confirmed that three people were killed in the Qizan Abu Rashwan area, including two young men in their twenties and a 12-year-old child, and their bodies were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex, according to the German news agency (dpa).
The shelling coincided with heavy gunfire from Israeli vehicles in the east, center, and south of the city, increasing tensions in the sector.
For its part, the Israeli army announced that a force from the Alexandroni Brigade (3) came under fire from militants during an operation in the Yellow Line area north of the sector, resulting in a reserve officer being seriously injured and transferred to the hospital.
Israeli army spokesperson Captain Ella stated in a post on "X" that Israeli tanks fired at the militants and conducted airstrikes in the area, describing the incident as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
It is worth noting that the implementation of the ceasefire agreement since October 2025 has resulted in the deaths of 529 Palestinians and injuries to more than 1460 others, while Israel confirmed that it targets sites of militants and Hamas members.
