France raids the headquarters of the organization "SOS Christians of the East" in Paris on suspicion of complicity in war crimes in Syria

The French news agency (AFP) reported on Saturday that French authorities carried out a raid and search at the headquarters of the organization "SOS Christians of the East" in the capital Paris, as part of investigations related to suspicions of complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity in Syria.

Sources mentioned that the operation included questioning several witnesses and suspects, in order to verify the organization's involvement in financing the pro-Assad "National Defense" militia, which is suspected of committing serious violations during the years of conflict.

The investigation comes in the context of French judicial efforts to pursue any illegal support for parties involved in the Syrian conflict, amid increasing human rights calls to hold accountable those who may have contributed to fueling the war or committing violations against civilians.
