Fadl Shaker in Court.. Preliminary Session and Anticipated Trial in December

Today, a preliminary questioning session was held at the Palace of Justice in Beirut for the Lebanese artist Fadl Shaker before the head of the Criminal Court, Judge Bilal Al-Dhanawi, in preparation for his trial scheduled for December 15, 2025.
According to information, the session was limited to formal procedures without delving into the details of the case.

During the session, Shaker was asked a series of routine questions, including the identity of the lawyer who would represent him, and whether he had received any threats or pressure before the trial date.
Shaker left the courtroom without taking any additional actions or having any new decisions issued against him.

Artist Fadl Shaker arrived at the Beirut Criminal Court at 8:30 AM amidst intense security measures, due to the sensitivity of the case and public interest in it for years.


Background of the Case

The case dates back to the events of Abra that occurred on June 23, 2013, which erupted between elements affiliated with Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir and the Lebanese Army.
Fadl Shaker is accused in the same file alongside Al-Assir, in connection with the death of a civilian affected by gunfire during the clashes, while the file remains open and no final ruling has been issued yet.


Next Confrontation Session

The first trial session is expected to be held on December 15, where a direct confrontation between Fadl Shaker and Ahmad Al-Assir is anticipated, in addition to several defendants and witnesses linked to the events of Abra.
