Explosion and Fire at Kuwait International Airport After Drone Attack

Kuwaiti authorities announced today, Sunday, that they have controlled a large fire that broke out in the fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, following a direct attack by a drone targeting the vital facility.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense stated, according to the "Associated Press," that the attack led to the outbreak of the fire in the fuel tanks, while a tall government building in the capital Kuwait also suffered a similar drone attack.
Authorities also announced that the headquarters of the Public Institution for Social Security in Kuwait was also targeted by a drone attack, and firefighting teams are still working to contain the fire there.
Regarding travel, global airlines announced the suspension of more flights to the Middle East due to escalating tensions in the Iran War. In this context, the Chairman of Kuwait Airways Abdul Mohsen Al-Faqaan confirmed that the company is using Saudi Arabian airports to transport passengers, to ensure the facilitation of travel and the return of citizens and residents to Kuwait.
He added that there are about 2000 requests from Kuwaitis and residents to return from abroad, emphasizing the company's commitment to meet passenger needs and ensure their safety during flights.
Kuwaiti authorities confirmed that firefighting teams are working tirelessly to combat the fires, while airlines are taking urgent measures to reroute their flights and facilitate the return of travelers, amidst a tense atmosphere and an unprecedented security crisis in the country.
