Jeddah Islamic Port Connects 9 Global Ports with Hapag-Lloyd's SE4 Shipping Service

The Saudi Ports Authority "Ports" announced a new step to enhance the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub by adding the new shipping service SE4 from "Hapag-Lloyd" to Jeddah Islamic Port, a move that will expand the Kingdom's maritime connectivity and enhance the efficiency of international trade.
The new service will provide a maritime route connecting Jeddah Islamic Port to nine major regional and global ports, including the ports of Tianjin Xingang, Qingdao, Ningbo, and Shanghai in China, as well as Busan in South Korea, and Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia, passing through connectivity hubs in the western and eastern Mediterranean before reaching Jeddah and then extending to Singapore.
The SE4 shipping service has a capacity of approximately 17 thousand standard containers, which enhances the operational capacity of the port, increases supply chain efficiency, and contributes to speeding up the movement of exports and imports.
This step is part of "Ports"' ongoing efforts to develop the infrastructure of Saudi ports and improve their ranking in global performance indicators, supporting trade growth and enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness in the logistics sector, in line with the objectives of the national transport and logistics strategy aimed at establishing the Kingdom as a logistics hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Jeddah Islamic Port is one of the largest ports in the region, featuring 62 multipurpose berths, an integrated area for logistics services, warehousing, and re-exporting, in addition to a direct truck transport system and specialized terminals for container handling and marine services.
The port's capacity reaches approximately 130 million tons annually, making it a key hub for trade in the Red Sea.
